In respond to “United We Serve” proposed by the President Obama, American Sports Committee had made the first step on serving the community. “Guang Huan Mi Zong Three-Tier Health Yoga Dharma Course” was held in the community center in Amsterdam, NY. “Healthy exercise program offered in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM – The American Sports Committee, a local establishment of the China-based nonprofit Western Supreme Buddha Association, has scheduled free sessions for the public in Amsterdam to share the oxidizing health and longevity exercises they believe can help cure people of a variety of ailments.

“It’s open to everyone,” said Jennie Wong, a spokeswoman for the group that established a center at the former retreat house at the Auriesville Shrine.

Wong, who speaks Chinese as her primary language, said it’s difficult to describe in English the Guang Huan Mi Zong three-tier health yoga dharma.

But she said people who practice the form of yoga are finding a variety of benefits.

“Many people in the U.S. are tortured by their pain,” said Wong, who said the group is responding to President Barack Obama’s call for people to contribute what they can to society.

“We’d like to do something,” Wong said.

Wong, who will conduct three-hour sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, described the format as a relaxed event in which the exercise will be demonstrated followed by discussion and questions.

The American Sports Committee believes its program can have a fast impact on ailments such as heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, insomnia, depression, endocrines disorder, hepatitis, arthritis and other afflictions.
